ANSWERS

Here at DreamLab, we don’t have the answers to all life’s questions but when it comes to Additive Manufacturing, we know a thing or two. Below you will find answers to many of our customer’s commonly asked questions.

How do you handle confidentiality?

We respect and honor confidentiality with all of our customers. We’ll sign a non-disclosure agreement similar to this example with you, offering complete protection for your business and intellectual property or any confidential information disclosed with us.

If I need design work as well as production, can you help with that too?

We offer Design Services too. With over 37 years of experience, we take pride in our ability to translate your idea into a precise model. From start to finish, we’ll have an open dialogue about the functionality, appearence, dimensions, etc.

Our design costs are some of the lowest in the industry and are of the highest quality at the same time! Once you approve the design, we can have a prototype shipped out the same day.

After the prototype is built to specification and approved, production begins and takes 1 to 3 days depending on size, quantity, and current capacity.

What type of files do I need to upload?

You can upload any of the following files types:

  • .STL
  • .STEP
  • .OBJ
  • .3MF

If you have a different file type please Contact us with any questions

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all forms of payment listed below through PayPal

How much is shipping? When can I expect shipment?

Shipping is included with all purchases. Prototypes typically ship the same day. Larger production runs vary depending on quantity, size, and intricacy.

How long does it take to get a prototype shipped?

WITH DESIGN FILES: If you already have your design files ready, typically we can have a prototype shipped out the same day. In the near future, we will offer Patent Searches through North Coast Legal.

JUST AN IDEA: We off Design Services too. With over 37 years experience, we take pride in our ability to translate your idea into a precise model. Our design costs are some of the lowest in the industry and are of the highest quality at the same time! Once you approve the design, we can have a prototype shipped out the same day.

Is there anything you won’t manufacture?

We won’t manufacture weapons of any sort or copyrighted material.

What brand/type of printers do you use?

We use 3dprinterworks CreatorBot Pro Series II printers, Anycubic Photon and a variety of 3D System SLA resin machines.

I have a design, how much will it cost per part?

With the correct files in hand, the formula for cost analysis depends on the following:

  1. Type of Filament/Resin
  2. Size of Material i.e., 1.75mm or 3mm
  3. Quantity of material to be used
  4. Job time
  5. Cost per hour

What if I only need a small run? Does that change the price?

Small runs are quoted per job and vary per order as size, amount of infill, quantity all come into the equation. We are known for our high quality and fair pricing. If you have a quote from elsewhere, send it over and we can usually do better!!!

What chemicals/environments are harmful or damaging to your products?

Most of our products are made from biodegradable plastics derived from corn, but some others like our resin products are susceptible to heat and may warp under direct sunlight if left too long in the light. Other products like PLA and ABS and most other FDM plastics are susceptible to heat, so keep them out of direct heat sources.
